Jean-Baptiste Pater, 18th century French painter, was a pupil of Antoine Watteau who exerted a great influence on his work.
He was accepted in the Paris Academy as a painter of gallant Fêtes in 1728 with the artwork "Le Rejouissance des Soldats" which is currently on display at the Louvre.
The French artist uses a traditional rococo palette of pastel.
